The Society of Anaesthesiologists of Tanzania (SATA) is a professional, non-governmental, and non-profit organization representing all anaesthesia providers across Tanzania. Registered under the Non-Governmental Organizations Act No. 24 of 2002, SATA serves as the official national body for anaesthesiologists, physician anaesthesia providers, and non-physician anaesthesia professionals dedicated to advancing safe, effective, and high-quality anaesthesia and critical care services throughout the country

Established by a collective of passionate professionals, SATA brings together medical experts from hospitals, universities, and health institutions across Tanzania with a shared purpose—to strengthen the field of anaesthesia, promote patient safety, and advocate for the recognition and growth of anaesthesiology as an essential pillar of healthcare.

Our headquarters are located at the MUHAS/MOI Simulation Laboratory and Patient Safety Center in Dar es Salaam, with regional branches in Dodoma (BMH), Kilimanjaro (KCMC), Mwanza (BMC), and Mbeya (MZRH), ensuring a truly national reach

To serve as a versatile platform of interaction among healthcare and academic institutions, policymakers, donors, and implementing partners for the promotion, standardization, dissemination, and implementation of quality anaesthesia and critical care practices for improved patient safety and healthcare outcomes.
